The utmost diligence and industry are being ex- erted to have a complete preparation. Rosecrans will be ready by the 20th, Buell by the ISth, and Halleck and Foote by the 25th. The Burnside expedition leave in about ten days on a mission that must necessarily be bigh- termanding the orders of Friday night. The soldiers, however, have instructions to hold them- selves in readiness te march. From the Upper Petemac. Frepericx, Jan. 14, P. m —Inteliigence direct from Hancock refutes the report that Gen. Jack- son shelled that town. Up to noon yesterday he had not left his position at Bath. The pubilahed reports to the effect that the enemy captured two of our wagons near Hancock last week, are with- out foundation, asare probably also other state- ments in the same correspondence, from the fact that the forces at Bath were, at the time of the attack, under Gen. Kelly’s command.
