The public anxiety to be present is exhibited even toa greater extent than on the occasion of the first concert, stimulated somewhat, doubtless, by the promised appearance of Gottschalk, who electrified the musical world some years since by his performances pon tho piano and by two musical compositions, but who latterly» through eccentricity or the dosire for money- making, has buried himself in New York city as a teacher of piano classes, which he has followed with such assiduity as to impair his health in a manner to occasion serious alarm to his friends. The public hail his reappear- ance with the greatest satisfaction. We learn that the reserved seats for the concert of to-night were sold two days ago, and that, to accommodate the numerous ap- Plicants since, it has been found necessary to provide a large number of extra soats.
