Jackson, Philadelphia—Dear Sir: J have been a subject of Dys , in its worst form, for the last five years. Such was my condi- tion for twelve months that the ph clans and all who saw me said I musi die. ile in this con dition I was carried to the watering in Vir- ginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina, but was not benefitted by any water to which | was taken. While on my way home I stopped a week at Ruth- erfordton, a s1 in North Carolina, to ey the effect of some Chaiyheate water in tha! ace. About the last of the week I went intoa Tug store to get some medicine for my child and myself. There were several of the village physi- clans in the store, and one of them seemed to take Soine interest in my case, and, after asking me some questions, said he had been a dyspeptic and had been tid benefitted by the use of HOOF- LAND’s GERMAN BITTERS, prepared by ou, and he insisted that I would try the Bitters, ie also called the next day at my room, and in- sisted so much that I would try them that I asked him ore me one bottle. He did it, and I com- menced taking it as directed, and I was more ben- cfitted by it than all the water and medicine J had ever taken. . After reaching home one of my neighbors came to me for a prescription and medicine, (he a dys- peptic.) and I gave him nearly all the Bitters 1 jad left, which effected piuch good in his case. He has often called on me for more of the same kind of medicine, saying he was more benefitted by It than any other he had taken, but I have not been able to get any more for hisa or myselfsince; will you, therefore, please ship me a dozen o7 more as scon Ay spagonac Rezpectfully, yours, W. There are two things about this berb that appears to me surpris- ing; first that it ‘rows in our pastures, in some quite plentiful, and yet its value has never a Known until I discovered it in 1546—second, that it should cure all kinds of humor. In order to give some idea of the sudden rise and are popularity of the discovery, | will state that In April, 1853, { peddled tit, and sold about 6 bottles per day—in Apvil, 1854, | sold over 1,000 bottles per day of it. Some of the wholesale Draggists who have been in business eet, and thirty years, say that no- sae} inthe of patent inedicines was ever like it. There is a universal praise of {t from ali quarters. In my own practice I always kept it strictly for humors—bnt since its introduction as a general family medicine, chap and wonderful virtues have been found in it that 1 never suspected Seyeral cases of epileptic fits—a disease which ‘was always considered incurable, have been cured by a few bottles. O, whata eee yd it will prove fectual im all cases of that awful malady—there are but few who have seen more of it than I have. I know of several cases of Dropsy, all of them ed people cured by it For the various diseases of the Liver, Sick Headache, Dyspepsia, Asthma, Fever and Ague, Pain in the Side, Diseases of the Spine, and particularly in diseases of the Kid- neys, &c., the discovery has done inore good than any medicine ever known No change of dict ever necessary—eat the best you can get and enough of it.
