SAYS CALL FROM COMMUNIST ‘PARTY TO NEW YORK WORKERS “Demonstrate on International Anti-War Day in Union 8q., Aug. 1; Down Tools at 4 P. M.” “Stand By the Workers and Peasants of USSR Against War Lord Hirelings of Capitalism” (Continued from Page One) i cn the Siberian frontier by this yas-| sal and puppet goyernment of China. | Insolent Provocation. | The seizing of the Russo-Chinese | Eastern Railway, the arrest, impris- onment, deportations of Soviet workers, the massing of tens of | thousands of troops on the Map-| churian border, are insolent acts of | provocation, are the beginning of a| definite move to inyade the Soviet | Union, to destroy the revolution in| the land of the Soviets, and to let | loose a reign of terror and mass myrder unparalleled in history. the capitalist press, the poison mongers of the bourgeoisie that slander every workers’ strike, that | lies daily against the working class, the strikebreaking organs of the ex- | ploiters are now slandering the Soviet Union, championing the cause of the war lords and voicing the in-| terests of the imperialists against | the Soviet Union. Despite the open provocation of the servile Chinese government against the Sovict Union, despite the hypocritical coyater-demands of the Chinese g vernment to the just demands of #.e Soviet Union for the release of the arrested Soviet workers, the capitalist press aims to put the Soviet Union in the position of ag- gressor. This is done to cover up the acts of war of the Chinese war lords and the maneuvers of the im- perialist powers. The socialists and labor bureau- er.vo, that are part of the capital- ist war machine, are now playing their dirty role in this conspiracy sgainst the Soviet Union. They are speaking of “Red Imperialism” of the workers’ republic, when every honest worker in the world knows that the Soviet Union has heen the foremost champion for the peace of the world, has repeatedly proposed universal disarmament, which was rejected by the capitalist diplomats under instructions from their gov- ernments. Only Nation Granting Freedom. The Soviet Union has been the only nation in the world that has given complete independence to the former oppressed nationalities of Czarist Russia. The people of Soviet Union, composed of oyer one hun- dred different nationalities, live in us and peaceful relations. Every’ honest worker knows that the Soviet Union was the only nation that returned to the Chinese people all the rights whieh had been seized from them hy the old imperialist ezarist gov- ernment. The MacDonald govern- ment, which promised recognition as one of its first acts, has been doing the bidding of the imperialists, de- laying recognition, and is now pre- paring humiliating terms as a con- dition for recognition. The “labor” government of MacDonald and the socialist government of Mueller are governments of war against the Soviet Union. The imperialist powers, despite the fundamental antagonisms among them, have one common platform on which they all meet—their im- placable hatred and fear of the Sov- iet Union. They are making war against, the Soviet Union because they fear the onward march of the forces of the workers’ and peasants’ republic toward the building of so- cialism. They are beginning to make war on the Soviet. Union be- cause their own system is shaky, growing ever more unstable; be- cayse they hope with the destruction of the Soviet Union they may be able by seizing the land of the Sov- iets to secure new markets and raw material; they may be able to obtain huge profits and to stave off the growing acuteness of the world crisis of capitalism. White Guard Murder. They hope by making war on the Soviet Union, by suppressing the great land of liberated proletarian workers, to succeed through a reign of white guard murder to suppress the rising tide of the class strugg’e in their own imperialist countries, They hope by destroying the Russian Revolution to be free from this revolutionary force that is ‘a danger to the capitalist system and an inspiration to the world proletariat and oppressed colonial peoples and to fight out the antag- onisms among themselvesgspringing from the need of new markets, raw materials, antagoni: that are leading to a world war among the imperialist powers. i Who is MAAS, A Against the ‘The chines war lords respon- sible for the death of millions of | Chinese people through famine, the hirelings of the imperialists that have resorted to the cruelest forms of torture and slaughter of tens of thousands of trade unionists, mili- tants and Communists. Who is Making War Against. the Soviet Union? The capitalist class, the exploit- ers of the world, that are suppres- sing the labor movement, that are destroying the unions, that are driv- ing the workers in the factory and subjecting them to inhuman speed- up, that are cutting wages, that are humanity, that are throwing them into dungeons, that are nullifying their rights of organization, that | | are imposing new chains of slavery | upon the backs of labor. Who is Making War Against the | Soviet Union? The American government, government of the big bankers and trust magnates, the murderers of Saceo and Vanzetti, the government of the open shop, the strikebreaking | government, the champion and de-| fender of the speed-up system, of unemployment, of low wages, the | work: | \ers, that deports them, the govern- | government that imprisons ment of capitalist exploiters. Who is Making War Against. the Soviet Union? under an iron heel the peoples of Nicaragua, of Mexico, of the Philip- pines, of Haiti, of Porto Rico, the imperialist powers that dominate the millions of India, of Asia, that are subjecting the people of China. | War against the Soviet Union js | war against the working class of the | cntire world!
