Giant Airbase for U. 5. in Operation African Continent CASABLANCA, Morocco, Dec. 4— (B—The first of five giant, new U.S. air bases being built on the African continent went into operation this weekend with the arrival of six B-36 bombers on a 5,000-mile non-1 stop flight from Texas. The bombers, part of the Stra- | tegic Air Command, flew from Cars- {well Air Base at Fort Worth to Sidi Slimane, a bomber base built in the desert of French Morocco about 50 miles northeast of here. They are to engage in a training mission, and are to be followed by other flights of Strategic Air Com- mand bombers on a rotation basis.
