Last, but not least, the Triangle Building at Juneau. the Triangle Building at Juneau The Warrack Construction Co. has plans for other buildings in the various cities of Alaska the con- struction of which will probably be undertaken in the Spring. One department is practically continually at work turning out pre- liminary plans and estimates free of charge for the Alaska people. Preliminary studies have been submitted to the City of Anchorage for their new school; sketches have been sent to the Jesse Lee Home at Seward for a new building; plans have been prepared for an addition to the Van Gilder Hotel in Seward, and two Other projects in South- east Alaska, the details of which will be published later. ——————— Triangle Building Is Monument to Growth, Alaska, Capital City (Continued from Page One) offices, modern in every way as to ventilation and fire- ness, as well as toilet facili- looking light, heat, ties; sanitary and clean with white tile floors. when the steam pressure reaches a certain point, never allowing the pressure to exceed two pounds. The condensation from the ra- diation is carried back to a Trane | condensation pump which automati- cally returns it to the bolier. Hot Water Supply The hot water supply for the building is furnished from a 250- gallon steel storage tank, contain- ing coils through which the steam passes assuring an adequate sup- | ply of hot water at all times. Plumbing The plumbing in this building required considerable planning and thought, as the thin sound proof walls are filled with a blanket of sea-weed which left little room for piping but through the co-opera- tion of the owners and the general contractor, we were able to conceal practically every pipe, but at the same time, make them accessible for cleaning out. The plumbing fixtures in the building are Crane and .Standard | make and the best of their kind. | The sinks are a special flat rim with a solid back especially design- ed for built-in drain boards and each and every sink is equipped with a swing spout faucet on which is mounted a white soap dish. The domestic hot water supply, which is taken from a large tank in the basement is a circulating | system, so that when the faucets on the kitchen sinks are opened, you can get hot water “right now.” Co-owner of Triangle Build- ing Has Striking Career in the Territory (Continued from Page One) houses seven stores and contains 30 office quarters. In 1927, he entered a partnership with Floyd Gibson, former Juneau business man, and opened the Nel- son-Gibson Men's Furnishing Store at Ketchikan. Later he purchased Mr. Gibson’s interest and the busi- ness has been continued by him alone since then. In the Spring of 1928, Mr. Nelson returned to Juneau. He purchased the Pond property on the south side of Front Street and the Tri- angle Corner, both then occupied by frame buildings. He rebuilt on the former property at once, and opened Nelson's Men's Furnish- ings Store. This was sold in a | short time to Sabin & Scott. Mr. Nelson became associated with Mr. Rustgard in the Triangle Corner deal and jointly they built the Tri- angle Building which marks the |apex of their operations here. Mr. Nelson also purchased a resi- dence property from A. L. Lund- greny located at the corner of Twelfth Street and E. Street. When Mr. Nelson again became interested here, he moved his family to this city and the third daughter was born. Mrs. Nelson, who shared with him his dream for a beautiful that Juneau is a city of old build- |ings, as more buildings will begin to feplace the old ones in the near | future, for through this structure 'the civic pride of Juneau's citizens will be aroused and will result in extensive development of the busi- ness district.
