A small enzacement (50,00 bu) was made for corn to go to Butfalo ut 2 ‘The receipts of wheat reported Saturday at Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Toledo, und De- trolt aggregated 64,000 bu and the shipments 24,000 bu. The shipments trom New York, Bul- timore, and Philadelphia were 194,000 bu. Some complaint was made Saturday that cor- tain packers were in the habit of taking out the overpius welght from the pork stored with them, though it may baye been sold by other parties. it was stated, in answer to inquiry, that the packers are hele responsible for the sweetness of the pork, and feel in duty bound to overhaul every barrel before sending It out to shippers. They take out the overpius a3 0 compensation for the trouble. We know not if the practice be authorized by the rules of the trade; it certainly js what Beerbobo would cali “a new feature” in this market, whatever may have been the practice elsewhere.
