FORDS DODGES MAXWELLS and Others at Right Prices that Ajax Motors celebrated fourth monthly “birthday” in the shipment of the 5,000th car to leave the plant since May 26 when the first Ajax was shown to a group\of lers, The remarkable thing about this 100 per cent increase in Ajax pro- n at this early date is that it is brought about by a demand from only one-fifth of the major. cities that will ultimately handle the car. What will happen when shipments are made to the other dealer points is a matter of interesting »conjec- ture. “While it was felt, before actual production on the Ajax had begun, that demand for the car would be unusually heavy, I am frank to say that we did not anticipate public ceptance of so sweeping a char- acter,” sald D. M. Averill, vice-pres- ident and general manager of the Ajax Motors company. “Because of its engineering features and design we knew that the Ajax would occupy a field entirely new to the automo- bile industry and so for weeks past the factory hag been steadily in- creasing production with cars mov- in almost immediately from the hands of dealers Into the possession of buyers. CASPER PLAGED AT JUNCTION (Continued From Page One) heretofore untouched by a large pub- lic highway. It gives the southern regions of this country and the northern portion of Mexico an inter- national artery of automobil2 travel. It will become the {deal route to the state of Texas for all who live th the northwest, and will be a means of reaching the heart of Mex- ico by automobile, a feat heretofore seldom attempted. Casper is now an important point on the Grant highway, the Yellow- stone highway, the Atalntic-Yellow- stone-Pacific highway, the Old Ore- gon il, and the Glacier to Gulf motorway, not to@peak of the great Park Park highway which in- cludes most of them in its vast cir- cular gmbrace, The new Glacier to Gulf will soon become a sort of backbone from which will radiate eyery east and west highway of importance In the United States. At some point on the long north and south trail, the tour- ist bound for any point in the Unit- ed States, Mexico, or Canada will find the very route which will take him to his destination. Casper is indeed fortunate In being chosen as @ part of this great new movement. Therefore, don't go to a dealer ex pecting a long allowance on your ured car. Remember that he is gamb- ling, while you are playing a sure thing. He is about to agree to tie every penny of profit he may expect to make on the new car he is about to sell you, in your old car, on the chance that he may be able to sell {t for somewhere near what the of- fers you for it. In order to give you a fair price for your old car in trade for a new one, the dealer is willing to take th gamble off your shoulders and worry along with it himself. Therefore it is easily seen that In order to do a fair business on a fair and square mar- gin of profit, no dealer can afford to take a long shot on any “used car” unless he has a buyer on hand for the car who ts willing to Jay the price you ask as an allowarce. Casper is exceedingly fortunate, in that dealers here are accustomed to re-conditioning used cars, repainting them, and really making them whol- ly presentable and service: ble to the future buyer, Even this is usually done without a prospect in sight and at additional expense to the dealer. At this time of the year, used auto- mobiles are at their best. Heavy trading during the summer hag brought numbers of them Into the establishment of the various deal- ers and in order to turn the machines Into cash as soon as possible the agencies are willing to sacrifice some USED MODELS who feel that they cannot afford new cars, to shop around a bit and pick out a good used car at what will really prove to be a great say- ing. Casper motor dealers do not sell their used cars “as is.” They put them through their shops, through their paint departments and then of- fer them for sale on almost an even plane with their new cars, The used buyer no longer takes the chahce he ured to shoulder when in the market for a second hand automo- bile, So you new car buyers, why not look at the thing through the deal- ers eyes, and realize that when you ask an exorbitant allowance on your used car you are asking a busine: man to tle his money up in’an un tainty. A reasonable allowance is perfectly permissable, and the auto- mobile industry could not exist with- out the trading and buying of used cars, but let’s not let our expecta- tons go beyond the bounds of rea- son. = Long trading on used cars must stop, if the automobile Industry in Casper and everywhere else is to re- main on a reasonably profitable basis. ——__—_—— The giant doors of the great han- gar at Lakehurst, N. The Bureau of Standards in Wash- ington has issued a statement that the correct specifications for an anti. freeze radiator compaund call for “one that will prevent freezing of the radiator liquid without Injury to either engine or radiator, that will not lose its non-freezing properties after Continued use, and that does not materially change the boilin point of water when dissolved in it. Supported by these specifications for an ideal anti-freeze radiator solu- tion, the Procter & Gamble company has placed in general distribution a correct glycerine solution called Ivo, which {s suitable for use in all makes of cars. They know that VESTA ‘‘costs less per month of service,” Further they know why. One of the most important ‘‘whys” is an exclusive and pat- ented VESTA fetaure—lIsolators. Isolators lock the plates of VESTA batteries apart, space them at exact intervals, and hold them rigid. This protects against short circuits, troublesome repairs, and batteries out of service. There are other important reasons, too, why VESTA ‘costs less per month of service.” We will gladly explain Vesta construction to you further. Remember that we service all makes of batteries.
