IF BAGK HURTS FLUSH KIDNEYS When your kidneys hurt and your back feels scre, don’t get scared and proceed to load your stomach with a lot of drugs that excite the kidneys and Irritate the entire urinary tract. Keep your kidneys clean like you keep your bowels clean, by flushing them with a mi'g, harmless salts which helps to renove the body's urinous waste and stimulate them to their normal activity. The function of the kidneys ts to filter the blood. In 24 hours they strain from it 500 grains of acid and waste, so we can readily understand the vital importance of keeping the kidneys active. Prink lots of good water—you can’t drink too much; also get from any pharmist about four ounces of Jad Salts. Take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast each morning for a few days and your kidneys may then act fine. This fa- mous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and has been used for years to help clean and stimulate clogged «idneys; also to neutralize the acids in the s?stem so they are no longer a source of irritation, thus often relieving bladder weakness. Jad Salts is inexpensive; can not injure; makes a delightful efferves cent lithia-water drink which every- one should take now and then to help keep their kidneys clean and active. Try this; also keep up the water drinking. and no, doubt you will wonder what became of your kidney trouble and backache. By all means have your physician ex- amine your kidnneys at least twice a year.Ady. FARRELL (United Press Sports NEW YORK, March Press}—Honesty, cour: tence and decision are given as the essentials in a first class referee by William A, Muldoon, senor mem ber of the New York Boxing Com- mission, while discussing the com- plaints made about some of the de- cisions given after contests In New York. “A good referee,” he sald, “must be able to see, to think and to act simultaneously, what to do or he shouldn't be the ring. The most essential thing though ‘is to do something and do it quickly. Nothing will destroy con- fidence so quickly as indecision.”’ No one in the boxing game today, has had a broader or more varied expertence in boxing that William A. Muldoon. Perhaps no one knows the ins and outs and the tricks and traps of the game as intimately as he does He has been associated intimately with the game for fifty years and in that time ‘he fighting game has heen at its worst and at its best, and he believes that the me is in bet- ter condition now than it has been previously. Muldoon is perhaps the finest Physical speciman for his years in the United States. He is older than Major Koehler, the physical culture expert at the United States Military Academy, who is sald to be the fine: built and best preserved soldier in the world. “Muldoon has kept his body young and has retained a very youthful mentalit: y the cleanest of living. You can't keep a first- class brain functioning in a third class frame. There have been complaints about some of the decisions that have been given recently in New York. Some blamed decisions that did not meet with their individual approval upon incompetence of the referees and | the judges. Others hinted at dis- honesty. This has been shown time after time by the ers on bouts that ended officially in a draw. Of fifteen written opinions | by reporters who are supposed to have judgment as competent as that of the officials, five may say that it was a draw, five will say that one boxer was entitled to a shade and five w’ that the other boxer won. his percentage may not be accurate in all cases, but it js very seldom that the boxing writers will agree even among them- Selves. Veteran boxing writers have been attacking the modern system of hav- ing decisions given by a referee and two judges and they maintain that the officials of the present day are not as competent as the referees of years ago like Siler, White, Kelly and other famous ring men. “I feel that Iam qualified to com- pare the off'ctals of the presert ‘day with the referees of the old school,’ Muldoon said, “I feel that I am more competent to pass an opinfon than some of the reporters who know of the old officials only by reputation, After fifty years of ex- perience I feel that I am correct in saying that the best referees of the present day are just as competent, just as honest and just as efficient as those of years ago. lect nd A.A. It means the joy of living. To be minus strength and underweight often proves low fighting-power in the body. It often means you are minus nerve- power, minus red cells in your blood, minus health, minus vitality. It is serious to be minus, but the moment you increase the number of your red-blood-cells, you degin to become plus. That's why 8.8.8., since 1826, has meant to thousands of underweight men and women a plus in their strength.
