Baking club demonstrations were held Saturday afternoon at the do- mentic science room of the high school, a team from each club dem- onstrating a different article of bakery. The contest was won by the team from the Rainbow club consisting of the Misses Martha Gadberry and Eleanor Reese. Second place was won by the team from the Happy Girls club consisting of the Misses Agnes Schneider and Reba Beer. The individual prizes went to Miss Martha Gadberry an@ Miss Agnes Schneider who scored high- est as demonstrators, The judges were Mrs. P. C. Nic- olaysen, Miss Wi!liams and Mrs. C. B. Parker. The contest, held under the ex- tension department gf the Univer- sity of Wyoming, is to select a team to represent Natrona county at the state fair next fall. F. hall, During the week to come preliminary contests will be held in all the public schools in all grades from the Fourth to the Eighth inclusive in the music memory contest. All students will Eva DRY in the preliminaries and the final contest will be held at the high school auditorium next Saturday morning. About 260 pupils will participate in the final contest and will be given an opportunity to name classical compositions as they are played, the name of the composer and his nationality. The school making the best rec- ord in the contest will be given a silver loving cup donated by the Wells Music company. Indlvidual gold lyre pins will be given to the best 50. pupils as well as a picture of a music subject to the winner in each of the respective grades. These latter prizes are also donated by the Wells Music company. This work has been under the jurisdiction of the Misses Bessie Agnew, supervisor; Jean Quinn and Kathryn Mahoi of the music de- partment of the schools and much credit for the success attained is due to their individual efforts.
