C. Royle. By J. C, ROYLE (Copyright, 1923 Casper Tribune) NEW YORK, May 17.—Up or down? That is the question automo- bile manufacturers are debating vig- orously. Some of them headed by Alfred P. Sloan, president of the General Motors, hold that when the summer announcements of models and prices are made for 1925 the price levels will show an increase. Other dealers assert that these levels ,must bo maintained as at present or dropped in order to stimulate sales volume and allow quantity produc- tion. “While additional economies will always be possible” Mr. Sloan said, ‘Tuesday, ‘“‘there are compensating factors which must be given con- sideration especially the increased cost of distribution. Manufactur- ers have reduced the price of cars in Une with and frequently in ad- vance of reduced costs made possible by better engineering and improved manufacturing methods. “It is improbable that consump- tion of motor cars this year will be any greater than last year. Only a few secluded and out-of-the-way spots remain in the state which cannot now be reached by automobile because of rdad condi- tions. The tourist from outside who wishes to include as many of Wyom- ing’s scenic spots as possible in his itinary will not find his path blocked by snow, mud, or absence of a bridge in more than two or three instances.
