That ton and a half of clothes causes the actors no little discom- fort, but they were compelled to wear them, despite the heat, owing te the necessity of achieving real- ism. The Arabs of Northern Africa, partly because of thelr religion and partly because of the shelterless na- ture of the country, wear on the average more clothes than the in- habitants of any other hot spot on the world map. The natives wear the hood of their tobe over their fez in addition to thelr woolen garments. In the interlor of the Sahara, where the scenes of “The Story of Love" are laid, the Arabs wear rope tur- bans. The Bedouin women in this pic- ture are never velled.
