Leading into it from the wings at the back of the stage the studio experts erected a metal slide. Lighting effects make it ap- pear that there are flames within the pit and when victims garbed in the attire of blue law advocates and representing Gloom, Peséimism and other enemies of Joy, are sent slid ing down the chute and out of sight into the pit, puffs of smoke arise. “Rofged Lips" was written by Rita Weiman, and was directed by Harold Shaw. It was adapted to the screen by Thomas J. Hopkins. “TOOT-T00T-TOOTSIE” IS MIRTH PROVOKING One of the most laughable bills which the Columbia theater has produced is “Toot-Toot-Tootsie” which is playing there for the last times tonight. It is not a comedy with any sense of plot but is ef fective for all that, inasmuch as the members of the cast are given &n opportunity to do their best in the way of provoking mirth among the members of the audience. M Bud Brownie has a song which goes by the same name os the bil Miss Turner and Tiney ROE UMAT TON Cannot Pxist in the Human Body it You Will Use Trunk’s Prescription it te a atory, ot It is preposterous Brennan execute a dance and patter act that possesses merit, while Billie Ireland and Bud Brownle put their audience in convulsions with their travesty on Shakespeare. “A Clouded Name” is the photo- play. “IBOVE ALL LAW” WELL RECEIVED AT THE RIALTO ‘The ancient customs of India are finely shown in above All Law,” a Paramount picture which was suc cessfully presented at the Rialto Theatre last evening. A powerfu! native prince, finding that his wife loves another, resolves to erect the greatest tomb fn the world and bury her alive in it. When an European architect, who is summoned to do the work, learns of his mission he re- fuses, and this sets in motion a train of swift action which sweeps on to a sensational finale. Apart from the powerful story. the picture is graced with some of the most colossal sets ever seen on the screen, some of them 80 gigantic that the men and women playing within them appear like midgets. Nor does it lack thrills, and there are fights with wild animals, excit- ing escapes and other happenings to satisfy the most insatiable pic turegoer. The cast is splendid in every way and the direction highly commendable The photography does ample justice to the care and expense lavished upon the picture settings. ———————___ “KENTUCKY DAYS” WILL COME 10 THE AMERICA Dustin Farnum’'s latest picture, “Kentucky Days" will be shown at the America theater Friday and Sat urday, On the same program will be Stan Laurel in his new comedy “Frozen Hearts.” pe nae Sa BIG AUCTION SALE ‘There will be a big auction sale ut °34 South David Saturday after. noon at 2 p. m. of household furni ture, rugs, bedding, cooking utensils @shes, glassware, etc. Harned Fur niture Co., 234 S.
