VETS’ BUREAU FACES ATTACK Kidnaping of Soldier In Washington ,, _State Asylum Is Charged Against Bureau Officials WASHINGTON, Nov. 19.—A charge that the veterans’ bureau kidnaped Charles Kasavage, a world war veteran, from an asylum in the state of Washington, and took him to a hospital in Pennsylvania, senate veterans’ committee, Republican, Washington. Representative Johnson ead offi cials of the bureau acted in vinla- n of a restraining order issued by the state courts and that he had been asked by Director Frank T. Hines of the bureau to present the facts so that the “wrong done in this case can ‘be righted.” A protest was made by Mr. John- fon against testimony given before the committee on November 5, by Dr. D. O. Smith, one of the tnvest- igators for committee counsel and also ngainst “the manufacturing of testimony,” apparently to be used later in a suit affecting the status of the soldier in a court at Wilkes Barre, Pa. SEATTLE, Wash. A coroner's verdict will attempt today to decide whether or not both wounds were fired with suicidal tn- tent or whether the first was ac- cldental and the man, despatring of help, decided to end it all rather than suffer. Sunday, realtor and son of the evan- gélist, Willlam A. Sunday and in the dramatic developments which fol- lowed two brothers essayed the role of. victim tn an alleged comedy of errors growing out of @ police report labeled: “Attempted Suicide.” George M. Sunday, according to a report to the police, was found in a gas filled room at his home with a rubber tube leading from a nearby Jet into his mouth. It was an “at- tempted suicide” the report stated, and the “Instrument vsed” was a “gus pipe hose.” Newspaper men who hurried to the Sunday residence, however, found Sunday, if not entirely recov- ered from the alleged inhalation of gas, at least lively enough to de- nounce the police report as grave'y inaccurate. As proof of this inac- curacy he produced his younger brother, William A.
