Lindsay ‘Chosen for First President. Wyoming oil men are getting together. At a meeting last night in the basement of the public Ifbrary the Wyoming Petroleum club was formed, with a number of the leading executives in the industry in this state participating in the initial work of getting the activi- ties of the organization under way. Of what general value this club Wil be to all men interested in the oi] game here will soon be seen. Taking into its membership, as it Goes, all who are in any way con- nected with the industry, it is safe to predict a vast amount of close cooperation and good to be derived. Rather than proceeding upon the Dasis of an arbitrarily selected .com- Bination of men engaged in 01 single branch of the business, the doors of the Wyoming Petroleum club ere open to all, whether they be active in the production, refin- ing, marketing, transportation, and discovery of oll, or are selling oil field supplies or trading . leases. The scope, therefore, is expansive ™ a worthwhile way, permitting a fall knowledge of the methods that are used in carrying on separate and distinct operations, all of which are essential and inter-dependent for the general success of the entire of industry. Tt t# planned to have expertly prepared papers relating to various developments, systems, and funda mentals tn all branches of the work, | * read and discussed at the meetings of the club. This provision makes it easily possible for a man whose duties are confined to ome depart- ment to learn something of the tm- Dortance ana methods of other de- partments. ‘The extent of the of] industry ts gach that problems requiring a thorough discussion among exper- fenced men in order to be quickly and properly solved, are constantly arising. It is in this way that meetings of the club will afford a means of straightening out per- plexing and difficult situations. Equally important with the plans of procuring ninent of! men to address the tings, will be oppor tunity offered for forming a keener spirit of gocd fellowship in the “oil fraternity.” This fraternity has | long existed in a casual way but it] through the agence € club_that the pod in this and not only | facts, figures. and find- rom meeting but ean do a group exploration. work: into the abundant good qualities of each other. It fs expected the membership of the Petro‘eum club which was started last night, will reach the century point by the next meeting. Steps toward & perma- nent body resulted in the election of J. C. Marquardt will be chairman of the membership group. The drawing up of a suitable con- stitution has been left to J. M. Doug- Jas, W. H. Geis, J. G. Bartram, and C. BH. Beecher.
