WORLD SERVICE PROGRAM OF METHODIST CHURCH CALLS FOR GREAT INGREASE IN EXPENDITURES LARAMIE, Wryo., Sept. 20— Twenty-eight million dollars for benevolent purposes is the legitimate need of the world service program of the Methodist Episcopal church, ac- cording to statements made before the state conference here by Dr. C. M. Barton of Chicago, In raising the funds needed $18,500,000 will be ap- portioned to the churches which last year raised $13,885,172 for the same purposes. “Under the church's centenary benevolent program, carried on for the last four years, the denomination has raged $15,000,000 a year for Denevolent purposes,” sald Dr. Bar- irra) funds regularly apportioned will be divided as follows: Board of Foreign Missions, $6,800,000; Board for Sunday Educatio' Board of schools, Epworth League, $175,000; American ot Bible Society, $200,000; Board Temperance, Prohibition and Public Morals, $250,000; Board of Deacon- eases, $90,000 2 of Hospitals and Homes, $17! ; Board of Con. ference Claimants, $150,000; and other causes $1,000,000." The committee of twenty- five considered the financial need of, the church for ten years for develop- ing its work at home and abroad and also decided on a one-year pro- gram. Eleven different benevolent boards presented their needs before the committee of twnty-five.
