One of the most laughable situations in ‘‘No- body’s Money”, @ Paramount picture starring Jack Holt, which will be the feature at the Rialto theater for three days beginning next Thursday, tis that of the stolen necklace. This! necklace passes from hand to hand} at a dizzying rate of speed, every- body trying to get rid of it by passing it on to his neighbor, Mr, Holt, in the role of a wealthy young man who tries burglaring for adventure and pastime, chooses for his pal a real yegg, Eddie, for whom everything of value has a_ lure. When Holt returns to the “honest life", he endeavors to reform Eddie. his ex-burglar pal as a se Then the fun begins tn! necklace with the purpose of return- ing it. Before he can do so, how- ever, the Governor enters the room. From then on the pearl necklace becomes a “hot cake’. Nobody wants it, yet they can’t rid them- selves of it. But he for- gets to lock the safe, and Eddie, ven- turing along a minute later, again steals the pearls and brings them to Holt, who is almost completely over- come by this turn of events. It also is interesting to note that Bavu was written by Mr. Carroll. ‘Ten years ago Earl Caroll was a pro- gramme boy in a Pittsbugh theater. This youthful imperssario earned hi! first bank roll as a writer of popular songs. One of them, “Dreams of Long Ago,” which he wrote in col- laboration with the late Enrico Caru- so, rolled up a small fortune. The barber, falling into the spirit of the occasion, lowered his chair and then put “Doug” up on a soap box. “I'm going to give you a bang-up Dutch cut,” he explained to “Doug.” “First I'll comb all your hair down into your eyes—like this—and then cut it off evenly in front.
