GREAT PARADE PLANNED FOR AASIN DAY FETE AT FRESNO, CALIFORNIA FRESNO, allf., April 20.—A gigan- tic parade eight miles long wif tn- eugurate the fifteenth annual Resin Day colebration at Fresno, April 26, Nearly every community, civie and military organization in the rasin dis- trict will be represented in the paradq ‘The unusual floats being planned will cost over $60,000. Many handsome trophies are to be awarded for the best floats and marching delegations. One division of this monstrous pa- rade, is the 1923 raisin pagent—"From the Garden of Hden to the Garden of the Sun.” It wag said last year that not even the great parades of the New Orleans Mardi Gras, or the Pasadena ‘Tournament of Roses, surpassed the grandeur of Raisin Day pageantry. The parade this year ta destined to be even greater in size and beauty. The pageant parade in the morning is only the beginning of a big day. In the afternoon the annual Raisin Day automobile race will thrill the crowds at Fresno speedway. This annual speedway classic br.ngs to Fresno the world’s most famous racing drivers. Approximately $20,000 is to be given in prizes. And in the evening there will be dancing in every hotel and dance hal) in Fresno. The queen of Raisin Day will preside over a great ball, which will be honored by the presence of many well known people.
