Ogden, Jr. 4 TO THE PROGRESSIVE REPUBLICAN VOTERS As there are many voters in Natrona County whom I cannot hope to see in person before the Republican pri- mary on August 22, I am taking this-means of acquainting them with my stand in the race for Sheriff of Natrona County. It seems that some people, in their search for something with which to knock me, and not finding a: nything against my character, have resorted to circulating the rumor that I am a Standard Oil man, and that if I am elected I would play to their interest. Right here I wish to say that the party who started that tale based it on his own imagination, and there is not a word of truth in it. It is true that I am employed at the Standard Refinery, and I will appreciate the sup- port of the other employes at the plant. But I will say that any company or individual who might expect special favors in the event I am elected will have to yote for some one else. If Iam nominated and elected I will not favor one person any more than another, for the office of Sheriff is not one of favor, and will not be if I am suc- cessful at the polls. I have also been asked what support I would receive from the County Attorney and the County Commis- sioners should I be elected on these grounds, but I cannot answer that question, although I feel that I will have every co-operation if the right men are elected. Maybe some of the candidates for these offices will answer for themselves. I will now leave it with you, but remember August 22—and vote—and vote for the good of the county and the state in which you live.
