PAGE SIXTEEN 1) PLP9DPHHOH$H9HG$HHOHDHOD HH HOOLHEHOHGOD: The above is a picture of our drilling crew and our big rotary rig now engaged in actual drilling of our well near Purdon, Texas, in the Mexia district. We’re Standing on the Brink of Millions As Our Drill Nears the Pay We are drilling our No. 1 well. This well is on our 1,000-acre tract, the best bet in the entire DRILLING siti Seana tema by eateree tet Teh Wi sn one of the lucky ones or will you sit back and wait to see these wonderful leases make many others rich? We were lucky in se- curing these leases and you are lucky to have this opportunity offered. A new gusher—a new oil field—that’s the news that startles the world.. This information has brought boundless joy and happiness to thousands of stockhold- ers—and just this information is what we are driving for our Number 1 well on our 1,000 acres on the greatest oil structure that has ever been discovered in Texas, if not in the entire world. ‘ Within the next two months we are convinced a great oil pool will be opened in Navarro County, Texas. We believe that our Farrel Number 1 well is located squarely over one of the greatest of oil pools yet discovered. Our geology is right, our location is right---every day and night the drill is digging its way deeper into the formations and each day brings us nearer to the goal---“SUCCESS.” Another Great Oil Field Is in the Making On a Vast Domain of 1,000 Acres The Security Producing and Refining Company Has Started After New Fortunes That Will Make Their Shareholders in The Security Company Among the Envied People of the Earth Facts About Our Property When Col. Humphreys undertook to complete a deep well at Mexia, nobody paid very much attention to what he was doing. It took some little time after he had brought in the first well before the public woke up to the fact that a new oil king had been made, and that a great oil field had been found. This particular section that Col. Humphreys selected for his operations had been gone over a number of times by geologists, all of whom pronounced it possible oll-bearing ter- vitory. There had never been any deep drilling there. Years ago some drilling hed taken place, with the reault that some gas had been found at a shallow depth. It was believed that the same contained nothing ‘but gas, and no attempt was ever made to explore the deeper sands until Col. Humphreys took hold; and, lo and behold, by going down about 3,200 feet the mighty gushers which have made Mexia famous, came roaring in and continue to come in with remarkable regu- larity. Our property and location upon which we are now drilling our deep well, ts located some distance directly north of the present Mexia producing pool proper, close to a small town on the Cotton Belt Railroad oalled Purdon. It is in the Mexia district and the conditions here are almost identical as they existed in ‘Mexia proper when Col. Humphreys started operations. ‘The shallow’ gas wells are here, some seven or eight of them which were @rilled years ago to an average depth of about 1,000 feet. These old wells are still making quantities of gas. despite the fact that they have no casing in. them, and the hole is filled with dirt and debris. These wells also show some ofl, as most of them are flowing a little water. We are informed that Col. Humphreys’ head geologist examined this structure and pronounced it one of the best defined that he has ever examined: in fact, he tried to secure a large tract of land here. but found he could not lease itjon account of the fact that it had alreddy been leased in smaller tracts, and waa unable to block up large acreage which is their custom. ‘These gas wells are all close to our location, the nearest one being less than one-half mile from qur well now drilling. Our company is the only one actualiy drilling, although there are sev-n additional wells getting ready to start at once. Some have their derricks up and moving the machinery on the ground, ready for action. These different locations practically surround the land ‘we have under lease, and it is almost certain that the most gigantic oil field will be opened up on this structure that was ever discovered. The Mexia. pool proper is a great field, but the structure upon which we are drilling. is much clearer defined, and covers a much larger area, the surface showings are plainer in every respect, and experienced oil men who have examined it, think it will prove bigger than the Mexia pool. The Security Producing & Drilling company 1s on the ground floor on this structure. We havé sufficient acreage under lease to make millions of dollars for our stockholders. We honestly believe we will outstrip Col Humphreys’ feat at Mexia. Think of it—being offered the huge sum of $52,000.000 for his holdings, which just a year before had practically no value. We have the same opportunity right now that Col) Humphreys had when he went into Mexia. We are putting down, right now, the first deep test on this structure, within a few miles of where Col. Humphreys made himself and his stockholders many millions of dollars and enriched thousands of others besides! The Security company is going to complete the first dincovery well tn this sec- tion of the field, and it is almost a forgone conclusion that we will actually maka millions for our stockholders. ‘The possibilities for huge profits to the stockholders are stupendous. Never before in the history of ofidom has a company had such a chance to make its stockholders independent for life. We've got what is believed to be the “Cream of the Field,” as far as acreage is concerned. It is checker-boarded over the field in such a way that we are protected in every direction. Own at Mexia Special to The Texas Oil Ledger. MEXIA, Texas, Dec. 2.—The small investor has finally come into his and her own in the Mexia field. For weeks and weeks you have been reading about the million-dollar deals of Colonel Humphreys, the Western Oil Fields Corporation, the Atlantic, etc. Many small investors wondered if the $100 shooter would ever get anything in Mexia. : This week the small player hit the ball and hit it hard. Jesse K. Hughes cut a watermelon, a juicy one at that, for dozens of small investors in Temple, Troy, Denison, Mexia and other towns around Mexia when he sold the J. K. Hughes Oil Company’s Mills No.1 and ‘1914 acres to the Magnolia Petroleum Company for $600,000, half-in:oil and the other half-in cold cash HERON, 000. ot of e well made 30,000 barrels on a three-day test. The J. K. Hughes Oil Company is capitalized for'$150,000 and only $120,000 of the stock is outstanding. Men, women and children hold the stock and share in the big watermeion sliced for their benefit. Among the fortunate unit holders may be mentioned Jack Womack, banker, Mrs. George Peyton and the two little children of Mrs. Sophie Travis, all of Mexia, Mrs. Travis bought a few shares for her boy and girl. | Your Great Opportunity that SUCCESS—that gives such” sure promise Jarge PROFITS—Believing this so sincerely, we have no hesitancy in ra you, just as we have our closest friends, to invest every dollar -you can in the shares of Security Company.
