Bourquin on Friday in wustaining of the demurrer of Attor- ney General Wellington D. Rankin to the action of the Continental Oil com- pany and the Mutual Ci! company in- volving the one cent gallon gasoline tax paid by them to the state be tween January 1, 1920, and March 4, 1920. The state legislature passed ii- cense tax of one cent per gallon on all gasoline sold in the state, the Measure not becoming a law until the adjournment of the session of the legisiature March 4, 1920. MANY LAW VIOLATORS BROUCHT TO JUSTICE IN SEARCH FOR TRUNK CHEYENNE, Wyo., Feb. 25.— Mrs. Lucy Padilla's trunk—Jinx of law vio lators in no way associated with it or its disappearance—has been found. The trunk, which disappeared several @ays ago, was located Thuraday in a @ry sewer in West Cheyenne. Thieves who had carried it away had made an effort to break it open, but desist Defore success crowned its efforts, and Mrs. Padilla found {ts contents undis turbec. Shaf- fer, head of the Shaffer newspapers and publisher of the Chicago Evening Post, was decorated with the French Legion of Honor in recognition of the service of his papers to humanity.
