F. Algea. A few additional contributions were turned in during the|* last 24 hours by the workers of the various teams organized Take to canvass the city.. The Business and Profssional Women’s team added ‘several substantial subscriptions to their list, while the American Legion team secured enough new subscribers to bring them to the top of the list of competing teams. ‘Team workers report that there still remain in their hands cards of pros- pects who ought to be ggod for con- tributions. One of the three Kiwanis teams. captained by Todd Bowman has made no report at all as yet and the cam- paign committee expects the territory assigned to that team to bring in its proportionate funds. Much credit is due to the team rep- resenting the Business and Profs- sional Women’s club. After having covered the territory assigned to them for solicitation, the ladies un- covered a number of prospects of their own, and furthermore undertook to bring in contributions from pros- pects given up by workers represent- ing other teams. Reference cards were turned over to them by the com- mittee this morning, and the ladies expect to bring in reports on them by evening. The campaign committee realizes that it has been impossible for the workers of the various taums to come into contact with every person in Cas- per who would consider it a priyilee to make a contribution, and President R. T. Kemp has made the announco- ment that additional volunteer con- tributions may be made by mail direct to T. F. Algeo, whose office is in the Oil Exchange building. ee Things Normal. “How's your cold, Donald?” BOXING SLUMP HITS ENGLAND | Jimmy Wilde Only One Left Who Can Get Raise Out of Brit- ish Fans By P.M. SARL (United Press Staff Correspondent) LONDON, April 29.—Boxing has slumped badty in England lately and with the possible exception of the evergreen Jimmy Wilde, it is difficult to arouse any interest in the doings of any British or European fighter. True Bomby Wells and Joe Beckett have been matched for the umpteenth time, to meet sometime in May, but only the incorrigibla Wellsites and the Beckettites can work up an argu- ment over the meeting of these erst- while heroes. The reason for this apathy is that there is no Britisher of outstanding merit 7c present in the ring and more {especially there are no British heavy- weights capable of extending Georges Carpentier, tho Frenchman, who is considered the world’s champion by default. True, over in America there is a fighter of some repule named Jack Dempsey, but when a Carpenticr- Dempsey match is mentioned, the British fan is too tired even to smile. This may be unfair to Dempse;", but the British sporting public has never seen him in the ring and the end- less delays and disappointments in Special Sale For One Week April 29th to May 6th 100 DRESSES. Since Charles B. Cochrane an- nounced he had washed his hands of Dempsey and Carpentier, the papers have guyed the whole affair. Even sport editors began to blush’ after an- nouncing for the ninth time that the fight positively would take place on such and such a date, according to tho latest cables from New York. Ne OE IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY FIRST PRECAUTIONS ARE EMPHASIZED IN PICTURE Hundreds of men, women and chil- dren in Casper, who saw the “safety” moving picture at the Iris this morn- ing, carried away lasting impressions of the terrible results of carelessness, especially pertaining to railroads. The main floor and balcony were packed to the limit even before the program began. The safety theme wis vividly presented in several differ- ent ways so as to appeal to all classes of people. R. C. Richards, originator of the safety movement in the United States, gave a leading talk that was easily understood by all. Pointed re- marks and statistics were thrown on the screen and were written and ar- ranged in a manner that would im- press. This was followed by a real SEE BEN etc., he Casper Daily Cribune moving picture, showing the causes and results $f accidents as they occur in real life. This was perhaps the most impressive part of the program as it showed minute details, leaving nothing to the imagination. ¢ The Northwestern Railway com- pany spent thousands of dollars in the preparation of this program but are realizing from the reports of fewer deaths and accidents that it was a of a strenuous effort on tho part ony the company to save huraan lives, prevent accidents and to keel) men at work. i ‘oo Much Candor. thereof charged against such lots, e _,{Hiram," said Mrs. Corntossel,| tracts ox parcels of land, without we Ait 20 40°40, inclusive, “don’t let our boy Josh write any more|interest, within 30 days after the = dettaraito. All Gas Fires MUST BE TURNED OUT at this time and POSITIVELY NOT LIGHTED AGAIN un- til the Power Company whistle is BLOWN THE SECOND TIME.
