ROTARY CLUBS TO GET FAGTS ABOUT LEGION INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 1— The board of directors of the Inter- national Association of Rotary Clubs has ordered a nation-wide survey of conditions surrounding the care of disabled veterans, “to prove whether American Legion reports are bastd on hysteria or upon actual facts," ac- cording to a letter received at Legion headquarters from Chesley M. Perry, Chicago, secretary-general of the Ro- tary organization. Perry said the Rotary board had en- dorsed the Legion’s consolidation pro- gram for relief to the disabled and would support the Legion's efforts to obtain its enactment into law. His letter said in part: ¥ “The 60,000 American business and professional men who form the 800 Rotary clubs of the United States, have started out-to gather the actual facts in their respective communities with regard to the manner in whicl the United States governmen ts hand ling the cases of disabled ex-soldiers The rotarians have been shocked by the disclosure n by the American Legion regarding the circumstances |surrounding the rehabilitation of |Uncle Sam's disabled ex-service men, jEach Rotary club is appointing a special committee to investigate con- ditions in its community and report to the club. Every club will then re- port to the headquarters office of Ro- tary in Chicago. The result will be that from 800 communities in every parf\ of the United States will come evidence of business and professional men to prove to the American people whether or not the American Legion reports are based on hysteria or up {on actual facts.” Sunday is 1 day of good deeds.
