Lobdell, is work- ing day and night to arrange the de- tails of the plan. Under the new move, considered one of the greatest benefit plans ever offered to employes of any organiza- tion in the country, individuals may secure a stock interest in the com- pany under the most favorable terms. By setting aside each month a cer- tain amount from salary, not to exceed 20 per cent of the monthly salary, an employe who has been on the com- pany payrolls for a period of one year may in five years, when the stock plan matures, be independent of working conditions. Under the most favorable arrange- ment the company will put up 50 cents for every dollar that the em- ploye puts up, pay dividends and in other ways insure him one of the best investments that he ever made. Tne only stipulation is that the employe must remain continuously in the em- ploy of the company. If he leaves voluntarily he can withdraw all the money he has put in and wi!l be paid interest on such a sum at the rate of 6 per cent. Here is the plan in detail by which the company insures that the em- ploye’s investment will earn him at least 50 per cent, besides the benefits that will accrue from speculative in- creases in the stock of the company: Purposes. 1. The purposes of this plan are to enable the employees of the com- pay and those actively engaged in the conduct of its business to become stockholders therein on favorable terms, and to assist them in paying for their stock. Term of the Plan 2. The plan shall be in operation during the term of five years, from March 21, 1921, unless sooner termin- ated in the manner hereinafter pro- vided. The Funds. 3. The purposes of the plan shall be carried out thru the establishment and operation of several funds, created by individual deposits by. the several em- ployees and by the company as here- inafter provided. To such individual deposits shall be added whatever tnter- est is earned by the several funds and the proportionate amount of whatever dividends are received from stocks held as herein provided. The Trustees and Thelr Powers 4. The several funds shall be ad- ministered by three trustees, to be ap- pointed by the board of directors of the company. The said board shall have power, in case of death, resigna- tion or inability to act of any of said trustees, to appoint a new trustee, or new trustees, to fill such vacancy, and shall also at all times have power of removal and substitution of any trus- tee or trustees, and any such new trustee, or trustees, shall have the same power and authority as is vested in each of the three original trustees. ‘The trustees shall not be held person- ally responsible, except for their will- ful misconduct or gross neglect, and the trustees shall not be required to give bond. The trustees shall not be required to give bond. The trustees shall not charge or be paid any compensation for their service as such. The trustees shall have power: (a To receive all moneys deposited by the smployecs and by the company under this plan. (>) To invest the several funds from time to time, as far as practicable, by the purchases from the company of its capital stock, at prices to be fixed as herein provided. (c To pay, satisfy and discharge, out of such trust funds, any taxes or assessments that may from time to time be fixed or imposed thereon by any lawful authority, and also the reasonable and necessary expenses in- curred in the administration of the funds, not ‘however, including any charge for office or clerical expense in connection therewith. (d To adopt, and from time to time, alter and amend rules and regulations for the carrying into execution of this plan, and their decision shall be final as to all questions or interpretation and applications of the plan, account- ing, vaiues, interest, withdrawals, ac- cruals, and as to all other matters COAL N. & A. The term “Employe,” as used herein, means any person who on March 31, 1921, oP at any time there- after during the existence of this plan, has been in the continuous and ex- elusive service of the company more than one year, an@ shall be regarded by the trustees as’ permanently em- ployed, or as being actively engaged for a like period of time in the con- uct of its business, and includes of- ficers and directors. The trustees shall be the sole judges as to.who is such employe, or who has beeh thus actively engaged in the conduct of the company’s business. All employees Jas thus defined and so determined, shall be eligible to share in the bene- fits of the plan. Participation by the Employee 6. Any employee may become a par- ticlbant under this plan by making deposits therein in the following man- ner: He shall authorize the company to educt from the amount due him as current compensation for services on each pay day, whether monthly or otherwise, a sum not in excess of 20|be closed by returning to him the per cent thereof, and to pay the sanfe] amount hé has deposited with interest over to the trustees, to be placed tojat the rate of 6 per cent per annum, his credit, which deduction and pay-|or, at the option of the trustees, by ment over shall thereupon be made. | assigning to him the equivalent there- The Company’s Deposits ot in the stock of the company, to be 7.
