Mrs. Richard Dunne has appealed for help in making this num- ber of doughnuts to be sold for drive on Labor day. Fifty pretty girls and enough with motor cars so they can take the doughnuts to the Fair grounds on that big day also are wanted by Mrs. Dunne to make the first day of the Salvation Army drive a success as far as the doughnuts ure concerned. Mrs. Dunne desires all to call her at h home, No. 1042-3 or by seeing Mrs. Dunne or Miss Mae Collins in the! Salvation Army hut. Further instructions can be secured from either of these two who are su- pervising the making of the dough- nuts which are to herald the start of the;Army drive which lasts from September 1 to 8. The receipt for four dozen of these} famous Salvation Army doughnuts as made in France follows: 5 cups of flour. 2 cups of sugar. 5 teaspoonfuls of baking powder. 1 saltspoonful of salt. 2 eges. 1% cups of milk. 1 tablespoonful of lard.
