RAWLINS REGION TAKES ON BOOM Six Companies Operating on Ferris Dome and Other Felds Are Being Prospected. Six companies are now operating in the Ferfis field, according to the| Rawlins Republican, and prospects are held-out that Separation Flats will soon be the scene of extensive development. West & Hazelett have also spudded in on the Mahoney dome, midway between Lost Soldier and the Ferris dome. The Midwest Oil Co., is about ready to spud in on Sec. 16-24-28. This land is owned by Mr. S. E. Perlberg of Chicago, from whom the Midwest took a lease. There is more activity in the oil development of the immediate. vicin- ity of Rawlins than ever before and | by the time snow flies there will be, either a stream of liquid gold flow- ing from the result of ‘the drilling of this summer or Separation Flats and its environs will bear the epi- taph “Rest in Peace” says the Re- publican.’ R. E. Wertz,-superintendent of the Producers and Refiners Corporation has been in Rawlins the past week closing the business of the purchase of the interests of the Kasoming Oil company. CECIL BON IS BACK IN CITY AFTER SERVICE Cecil “Si” Bon, well known Cas- per business man, who was a member of the 7th Machine gun battallion, of the third division, which saw con- tinuous service overseas in the clos- ing moves of the great war, has re- turned to Casper and is again iden- tified with the prominent realty firm See Ben and Bon. Mr. Bon returned to Casper yes- terday morning and is renewing friends and acquaintances after an absence of over a year. Mr. Bon en- listed early in the war and has seen a long period of service both in this country and on foreign fields. “It was all right while the war was on,” said Mr. Bon, “to stay over there, but it is like serving a jail sentence te remain across the water when there is no fighting or anything to occupy: a person. Like all the rest of the fellows, I feel glad to get back again to Casper and enter the progressive life of the city. The old town sure does look good agai..” ———.$,..
