Pilots and gunners have unlimited vision in al) directions, as the plane is a “pusher,” with propellers in the rear of this revolutionary new fighter, which army fiyers have nicknamed the “Aircuda.” In the picture above, Lieut. B. F. Kelsey can be seen clearly as he puts the plane through test flights fur the Army Air Corps Materiel Division at Dayton, O. ido that claimed 200 lives, the ; Within the city limits 922 structures were damaged; loss was estimated at more than $10,000,000. ‘Only the statue of a Confederate veteran, standing in the middle of the square park, escaped un- scathed. Here, on Nov. 24, President Roosevelt will dedicate this new ‘Roose velt Square” in proof of victory over destruction, and the development of a newer and more prosper- ous city. Only the broken trees, in the park, above the statue of the Confederate vetcran,. remain as mute testimony of the tornado’s destructive power. Nov. 11—(h— Bearded and black-frocked Aaron Beiler brought a request from the Amish farmers of southeastern Penn- sylvania Thursday that Amish chil- dren be exempted from certain age requirements of the state’s new school code. Officials in the department of public instruction said the new code, efiective Jan. 1, would permit exemp- tion for farm hands after they are 15 years old. The exemption at pres- ent is 14 years. Beiler insisted his people wanted the 14-year limit continued. The Amish, he said, were strongly in favor of education, but considered education beyond the 14-year limit a matter of “worldly wisdom” and a challenge to their religious beliefs.
