GROUPS CONVENE TUESDAY Delegations From Bismarck W. R. C. and D. U. V. Organ- izations to Attend Bismarck members will take a prominent part in the ninth annual convention of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the 1936 assembly of the Women’s Relief Corps being held at Devils Lake this week in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Grand Army of the Republic. Nearly 200 delegates are exp2cted to convene Tuesday for the W.R.C. and G.A.R. meeting, according to the Associated Press. Bismarck has no G.AR. member but Mrs. Albin Hed- strom, appointed state Iegisiative chairman before the local W.R.C. unit disbanded, will attend that meeting. She leaves Tuesday morning. Auxiliary members will be promi- nent as only six G.A.R. veterans re- main in North Dakota. Mary J. Love, Louisville, Ky., national president of the auxiliary, and Oley Nelson of Des Moines, Ia., commander-in-chief of the grand army, will be two of the main speakers. Others taking a main part in the activities include Col. and Mrs. J. W. Carroll of Lisbon, department heads of the G.A.R. and auxiliary, and D. G. Duell, Devils Lake, adjutant general of the G.AR. Officers will be honored at a dinner Monday night, given by Mrs. Clara Westerhol, president cf the local corps, with an informal reception following. A “family circle” break- fast will open the activities Tuesday with Mrs. Carroll, hostess, and Mrs. Love, the honored guest. Mrs. Maude W. Green, department president, heads the delegates from Tirzah Ann Barclay Tent No. 3 to the D.U.V. conclave Wednesday and Thursday.
