zs q a = Y SOCIETY and CLUB: BS Honor Miss Frieda Bachmann At Tea at Executive Mansion -: Mrs, Welford and Members of Club Receive Large Group of Guests Nearly 200 callers were received at the Executive Mansion between the hours of 3 to 5 o'clock Thursday af- ternoon, the occasion being a tea given in honor of Miss Frieda Bach- mann, of Menomonie, Wis., sister of Mrs. Walter Welford. Miss Ethel Welford of Neche, sister of Governor Welford, was expected here to share honors with Miss Bach- mann but did not arrive. The tea was sponsored jointly by Mrs. Welford and the Ladies’ Wel- ford-for-Governor club. Members of the group receiving with Mrs, Wel- ford. and Miss. Bachmann were Mmes. P. O. Sathre, Dave H. Delegates Return From Minot Delegates of Bismarck units re- turned Thursday and Friday from the conventions of Independent Order of Odd Fellow branches which open- ed Monday and continued through Thursday at Minot. Maison was official delegate to the Ladies’ Auxiliary to the Patriarchs Militant session Monday and Tuesday and remained for the Rebekah grand lodge session. Mr. and Mrs. Ayers Home From Vacation Mr. and Mrs. W. 8. Ayers, 220 Ave- nue A, west, came home Wednesday afternoon from a several weeks’ va- cation spent in motor travel on the ‘west coast. Mrs. Ayers had joined Mrs. Gus A. Osmundson of 508 Avenue A at Port- land and Messrs. Ayers and Osmund- son met them there. The Osmund- sons spent most of their time at a resort on the Willamette river near Portland. They left there last Sun- day and expect to spend the remain- der of June driving back to Bismarck, making several stops to visit friends en route. Starting from Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Ayers traveled to San Francisco and Modesto, Calif., seeing Yosemite park and the redwood forests on their way back by an inland route. They were at Tacoma, Wash., for eight days and toured Mount Ranier park, after which they went to Seattle, Wash., and viewed the Grand Coulee dam project before coming back by way of Spokane and Helena, Mont. At Helena Mr. Ayers met friends whom he had not seen for 32 years and they stopped over for a few days.
