Twenty-four broadcasts have been scheduled already, including 20 com- petitive events, official ceremonies, word pictures of the picturesque set- ting of the games and the Olympic village which has been. constructed to house the athletes, and the torch relay run from Olympia, Greece, to Ber! lin. Dave Rubinoff and his violin will be heard in the first of his series of 39 “Musical Moments” programs on day, April 20, at 6:45 p. m. (CST). There will be three programs a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at this hour. Rubinoff has just concluded an en- gagement of six months as star of the Saturday night, hour. With him on that program were Jan Peerce, tenor, and Virginia Rea, soprano, and they will be heard also in “Musical Mo- mehts.” In the opéning broadcast Rubinoff and his orchestra will salute Irving Berlin, who recently celebrated his 25th anniversary as @ composer, by playing Berlin’s most popular number of today, “Cheek to Cheek,” binoff and his violin will be heard in | the title number from “Thanks A Million” as he rendered it in the mo- tion picture. Jan Peerce will sing “Alone” from “A Night At The Opera” and “Rhythm In My Nursery Rhymes” will complete the program. He brings a new comedy sketch to the show. Ballew, the Texas lad who made good first on Broadway, then in Hollywood and just recently on the radio, will swap notes and experiences with Babe Didrikson, another all-star product of the Lone Star state. Miss Didrikson generally is conceded to be the greatest all-around girl athlete ever produced in this country.
