Everyone is cor- me Famed Hotel Setting Used in New Picture Many scenes in Paramount's new musical romance, “Coronado,” to be seen on Friday and Saturday at the Paramount Theatre, were taken at the famous Hotel Coronado, one of the world’s most exclusive resorts in lower Calfornia. Fifteen separate studio sets were constructed in Hollywood for the pic- ture, including two elaborate ones de- Picting the interior of the big hotel and the cabin aboard a millionaire’s yacht. The “Coronado” company made up of more than 350 persons, moved in a body to the hotel itself after finishing studio shots, and twelve sets were used on the scene, One of these called for the construction of a complete “tent city” which figures prominently in the story.’ The script also called for the use of a ferry-boat, tugs, a Navy tend- er and several barges, One of the important “props” in the film is a parrot, which Jack Haley, who plays the role of Chuck Horn- bostel, a sailor with the traditional dis- like for marines, brings home to Alice White. The bird answers to the name of “The Admiral” and has several speaking lines in the picture. ‘CROOKSTON BURGLARIZED Crookston, Minn, Dec. 13.—()— es here robbed MOVIES = ‘Pacific Fleet’ Comes To Port in Bismarck “Miss Pacific Fleet” comes to port | today at the Capitol theatre with that famous quartette of film comedians, Joa nBlondell, Glenda Farrell, Hugh Herbert and Allen Jenkins heading a cast that includes hundreds of gobs and marines. The picture is based on the rollick- jing comedy by ° Frederick Hazlitt Brennan and is said not only to be hilariously funny but to carry a hu- morous love triangle between Miss Blondell, Jenkins and Warren Hul, |the radio star who has the romantic role in the production. Miss Blondell and Miss Farrell are teamed as a couple of wise-cracking chorus beauties who run a concession at an amusement park on the Pacific Coast. They are put out of business through the cane ringing skill of Jen- kins. Hugh Herbert promotes a beauty contest, which includes a prize fight with 5,000 votes awarded the winner to give to his girl friend. This is staged between Jenkins, who has fal- len in love with the chorus beauty, Miss Blondell, and one of the local pugs. Laughs tumble over each other in a series of hilarious situations to a mel- odramatic, although laughable cli- max, in which there is a kidnaping, a motor boat chase for the abducted girl and @ free for all battle including not only the sailors but their sweeties.
