Connolly said an investigation of Dant’s record showed the youth had served terms in the state training school for burglary, and in the peni- tentiary for forgery. He also was said to have served several sentences in the Minneapolis and Minot jails for disorderly conduct. Nye and Langer to Address Farm Picnic Senator Gerald P. Nye, William Langer and others will speak at 2 gigantic meeting planned by the Mc- Henry County Farmers’ Union for June 17 at Ole Tagestad’s fishing grounds near Towner, O. T. Haaken- son said in Bismarck Friday. The McHenry county Farmers’ Union will hold its quarterly meeting from 10 a. m., until noon and the speaking program will start at 1 p. m., he said. A 30-piece band, male quar- tette and other entertainment fea- tures are included on the program. Mr. and Mrs. Haakenson came here to get their daughter, Miss Clara Haakenson, who has been attending the local high school. Morris Presents His Resignation Earle H. Morris, chief engineer of the North Dakota board of railroad| commissioners, Friday presented his resignation, effective July 1. Mr. Morris has accepted an ap- polntment as chief engineer of the Public service commission of West Virginia, He has been head of the engineer- ing, valuation and statistical depart- ment ‘of the North Dakota railroad commission for the last 11 years.
