Monday Club Elects Mrs. N. O. Churchill Mrs. N. ©. Churchill was elected president of the Monday club at the annual business meeting of the group held Monday afternoon following a picnic luncheon in the Menoken grove. Mrs. Churchill succeeds “Mrs. M. W. Roan. Other officers who will serve with Mrs. Churchill are Mrs. W. G. Worn- er, vice president; Mrs. P. C. Bakken, secretary; and Mrs. Harold Shaft, treasurer. Vater, pastor of the McCabe Methodist church, officiated at the wedding of Miss Olive Edna Hughes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Hughes, 1120 Avenue C, and Richard Earl Resum, Fremont, Neb. The ceremony took place Tuesday morning at the home of Rev. Vater. The bride wore a frock of tea rose chiffon with matching hat and ac- cessories, Her attendant, Mrs. D. J. Solomon, Bismarck, wore a white silk suit. W. C. Muirhead, Fremont, was best man. Mr, Resum, @ son of Mr. and Mrs. 'T. A. Resum, Fremont, is a salesman. B. Gilman Monday at Mrs. Webb's gpartment in the Patterson hotel. Appointments in pastel shades were used for both affairs and tapers dec- orated the tables/ Covers were placed for 26 at the luncheon. The afternoon was spent at bridge, with score honors going to Mrs, Paul Remington, Jr., and Mrs. Harvey Niles. Among the guests were Mesdames H. 8. Russell, Harry McKee, Al Wein- handl, William Murname and C. F. Kelsch, all of Mandan and Miss Mar- garet Bassett, Fargo. Twenty-two guests were invited for the dinner, served at 7 o'clock. Later there was bridge, with Miss Mildred Eger and Mrs. Paul Halloran holding honors. Mrs. W. H. Carroll, mother of Mrs. Gilman, Mrs. Cleve Kennelly and Mrs. Joe Fleck, Mandan, were among the guests. The parties are first of a series which Mrs. Gilman and Mrs. Webb will give. eek H. S. Class Night Program Arranged Programs for the Bismarck high school commencement Thursday eve- ning and for class night Tuesday eve- ning have been announced by W. H. Payne, high school principal. Both exercises will be held at the city auditorium at 8 p. m. The clas night program wil open with selections by the juvenile band. Eula Cameron will give the salutatory address and Mary Lou Thompson and Dale Brown will relate the clas his- tory. Catherine Brown, Louise Sween and Phyllis Thompson will recite the class rhyme, with Eula Cameron and John Zuger presenting the class prophecy and Marjorie Ackerman and Chester Perry reading the class will. Phyllis Thompson will read the traditional class poem and Harold Barth and George Moses, presidents of the senior and junior classes, will smoke the peace pipe. John Zuger, as valedictorian, will give an address and singing of the class song, composed by Idel Stegner, will close the program. Hon. Wesley McDowall, Valley City, will give the commencement address ‘Thursday evening. Presentation of the Knowles award will be made by Mr. Payne and Dr. W. E. Cole, presi- dent of the board of administration, will confer the diplomas. * * * Miss Bertha Palmer, state superin- tendent of public instruction, will give the last of a sevies of radio talks cn the general topic, “Till Comes the Poet's Eye,” at 3 o'clock Thursday aft- jernoon from the local station.
