Work of Diplomatic Service Is Discussed Complying with the request of the general federation that every wom- an’s club devote one program during . the year to topics of international importance, the Fortnightly club ‘Wednesday had a program centering around America’s relations to other countries of the world. ‘Mrs. C. W. Moses, president of the club, was the speaker, and she dis- cussed diplomatic relations of the United States and foreign nations at the present time and also during the time when our first ambassadors were appearing at European courts. She mentioned the fine work of many of our representatives in promcting a better understanding of our country and maintaining friendly relations during political uprisings. Current events of the last few weeks were reviewed by Mrs. F. R. Smyth and Mrs. G. A. Rawlings pre- sented a report of the eighth district of the North Dakota Federation of ‘Women's clubs, held in Janestown last week, sk * Reports of the eighth district con- vention of the state federation of women’s clubs, held in Jamestown ast week, were given by the dele- gates, Mrs. J. K. Blunt and Mrs. H. M. Berg at a meeting of the Wednes- day Study club at the home of Mrs. W. H. Bodenstab, 520 Mandan St. Mrs. Spencer Boise read a paper on “The Russo-Chinese Conflict” dealing with past and present dificulties be- tween these two natiohs. * * * Cards were played at four tables at the April party of the U. C. T. Auxiliary held Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. C. S. Fossum, 503 Fourth St. Score prizes went to Mrs. Leo DeRochford and Mrs. Fred Doll. Members of the committee in charge of the party were Mrs. W. E. Jensen, Mrs. A. Y. Haglund, Mrs. O. W. Cleve, Mrs. John Hoffman, Mrs. Roy Law- rence and Mrs. H. A. Lewis. * * * The A. O. U. W. lodge will hold a card party for members and their friends at 8 o'clock Thursday evening at the Odd Fellows hall. Refresh- ments will be served after the card games.
