Cooper, Courtenay. * * * A company of friends arranged a surprise Saturday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Andrus, 1004 Eighth St., on the occasion of their wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Andrus were to have entertained their bridge club that evening, but members of the club and other guests arrived at an earlier hour, bringing dishes for the pot luck supper which was served to the 16 self-invited guests. The evening was spent a: bridge, with Mr. and Mrs. E. M. They were at Miami and ) nearby points for about three weeks, spending the greater part of the time in deep sea fishing and cruising. ‘They report an’ enjoyable outing. Roads everywhere were found to be in excellent shape and they made the distance betwen Miami and Bis- marck in much better time than was anticipated. * * Appointments in yellow and green, with bowls of jonquils centering the tables, were used for the bridge luncheon given Saturday afternoon by Mrs. E. B. Gorman, at her home, 102 Avenue F. Places were marked for 12 guests. Bridge was played during the afternoon with score hon; ors going to Mrs, L. A, LaRue and Mrs. H. F. Peters. Auxiliary Plans for Dancing Party Feb. 11 Specialty dance numbers by a group of girls will vary the program for the benefit dancing party which will be given Wednesday evening, Feb. 11, at the new World War Memorial build- ing, under the auspices of the Ameti- can Legion Auxiliary. Entertainment features are being ranged by Mrs. Frayne Baker, and the following numbers will be given: Adagio acrobatic dance, Ruth Cogh- jan; clown dance, Jean Baker and Gayle Kelly; tap dance, Genevieve ; ballet, Ruth Baker; chorus, Jean Baker, Bernadine Barrett, Fran- ces Frahm, Vivian Coghlan, Marion Peterson, Beverly Bauer and Peggy Bergeson. The latter number and dances by Ruth Coghlan and Ruth Baker are directed by Margaret Ann Ramsey.
