Holmes celebrate their 50th or golden wedding anni- versary on Wednesday, May Ist. Mr. and Mrs. Holmes were married in Lesueur Center, Minnesota, in 1879 and later living in Fairhaven and South Haven, Minnesota, where Mr. Holmes was the postmaster for sev- eral years. In coming to North Da- kota they stopped at Bismarck where they were engaged in hotel business for some time. From there they moved to this farm, seven miles southwest of Wing, where they have resided ever since. Their four chil- dren, Mrs. A. Fatal Accident—Mr. Wyant was fatally injured Monday morning when he fell while working around tractor- drawn plows and was run over by them. The accident happened in Man- dan, when the little girl was running across the street for an ice cream cone. ‘The child sustained several bruises but was otherwise unhurt. Percy Freeman has returned from Great Falls, Mont., where he was called last week by the critical con- dition of his former wife, Mrs. Robert Ward. At first it was thought Mrs. Ward's injuries would end fatally, but she is now recuperating and strong hopes are held out for her life. Mrs. Ward was shot by her husband dur- ing @ quarrel. Mr. Ward also shot himself, but his injuries were not con- sidered serious. Mr. and Mrs. Enos Strandemo and small son were recent visitors at the home of Mr. Strandemo’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E.
