SAVAGE ° Fritz Sueltz of Dana township passed away Christmas morning, 1928, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Barr of Fessenden. He was 73 years old. Mr. Sueltz was a| highly respected man in the com-| munity and one of the best known) men throughout the county. He was born at Steiger, Germany, in 1855, and came to the United States in 1881 at the age of 26 years. On June 15, 1984, he was united in marriage to Caroline Zuhike, of James, 8. Mr. and Mrs. Brown of uorth Boyd lost a little daughter with diphtheria this week. No new cases have heen reported in the vicinity and the others are improving. Robt. Welch and two little sons were ill with flu this week. Mr. Dop- pler, Otto Dorman and Robt. Boyd are ill also. A doctor was called out to the Boyd home one day, and Mrs. Robt. Welch had her little son George to the doctor the latter part of the week. All cases seem to be due to in- fluenza. Lawrenc? Doppler succeeded in turning Oliver Welch's windmill out of gear, the wire having broken at the top Wednesday evening. Lawrence Doppler has been helping with ehores at the Robt. A de- lightful lunch was served at eleven and those present had a very enjoy- able time. ‘ ‘Wiefred McCusker left Tuesday for Regina, Canada, to further resume his studies at the Campion college. Laurence Price of the river neigh- borhood was reported as being very ill with pneumonia last week. How- ever, at present he is getting along very well. The Catholic Mothers’ society met Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. D. McKusker, Mrs. J. J. Lands- berger assisting. The meeting was very well attended. Doc Nagel from the river district passed away Saturday. The cause of his death and details were not learned. é Mr. and Mrs. G. Jonkman enter- tained at a card party Sunday eve- ning. Little Dona Claire Berkholtz was hostess at a birthday party given in honor of her fourth birthday, Friday afternoon. About a dozen of her lit- tle friends helped to celebrate the event. The local basketball team will journey to Braddock Wednesday eve- ning to play the second game of the season, L. W. Berkholtz, drove by car to Rock Rapids, Iowa, the first part of last week.
