The cashier, Murray Coan, and a teller who accompanied him, were not injured. Coon was carrying the money in a bag. As he and the teller, George Sille, were about to enter the bank one of the would-be robbers ap- proached Coon from an automobile and demanded the money. Instead of complying with the de- mand, Coon said he told the man to “get out. I'll hit you over the head with it.” The bandit drew a revolver and fired four times, the bullets going through a window and ricocheting from the steps. The bandit fled to the automobile where a companion was seated at the wheel. \North Dakota Couple Escape Death in Car Wahpeton, N. D., Dec. 22. While en route from their home at Hankinson, North Dakota, to spend Christmas at St. Cloud, Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Radloff were detained when their automobile skidded on a slippery curve near Fairmount, N. D., and turned over. The machine caught fire and burned.
