We are all sorry to hear of the acci- dent and hope he will soon recover. Another accident happened just lately. Mr. and Mrs, Dunken of Goodrich while on their way home from a visit at the Ed Pond home the steering wheel gave way and caused the car to turn over in to the ditch. They both received some broken bones and are int he Harvey hospital. We join their friends in wishing them recovery, and hope they will soon be home, . Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gray and Miss Opal Gray shopped in Wing Saturday, and while in town called at the John Harty home, and were dinner guests of the Harty family. The Epworth League enjoyed a “Backward Party” at the Geo. Altes home Friday evening. About 40 young people were present. We noticed that the girls appeared as requested, wearing their dresses backward, but very few of the boys found it convenient to wear shirts, ties and coats backward. Monday . .orning Dorothy Wood, Jessie Homsey, Selma Repp and Francis White left for Fargo where they will attend the 4-H club meet- ing at the A.C. These young people go as representatives of Pleasant Hill district. We understand that a number of clubs of Kidder county are sending representatives to this meeting. County Agent Carlson ac- companied the club representatives and two of the county leaders. Mrs, leon father, Cross of Dawson and Francis Hai-| beck of Pursian Lake also made the trip to act as chaperons for the girls jand boys. The W. C, T. U. held their regular meeting with Mrs. Benny Smith Wednesday afternoon. The Eagle Cartage Co. of Mil- waukee had one of their big trucks laid up for repairs here six days last week, H. K. Kane did the work on the truck. Herbert Henwood of Fargo, mis- sionary of the American S. S. Union, visited at the Methodist parsonage Friday. A well-filled house enjoyed the stereopticon Bible lecture at the Methodist church Sunday night. This was given by Rev. Guy Lewis of Ashley. The pictures illustrated Bible events beginning with the cre- ation and ending with the ascension of Jesus. The American Legion auxiliary met with Mrs. Len Collins Thursday evening. Plans were made at this meeting to send Christmas boxes to Legion: boys who are in the hospital. Glencoe By DON NICHOLSON Farmers from far and near are taking advantage of the fine weath- er with which North Dakota is blessed this year. With their vari- ous makes of trucks and with their teams, they are exceedingly busy hauling their supply of wood from the timber. The roads are in good condition at the present time which adds considerably to the pleasure of using them. William Williams, a former resi- dent of this vicinity, who has been absent in recent years, while en- gaged in business in Minnesota, has recently returned to his old stamp- ing grounds, and is at present lo- cated at the Robert Woodland farm, where he is expected to remain for some time. These meetings which are regularly being held in different homes throughout the community are growing quite popular and are being attended by many older folks as well as the young.
