Michael Schroeder was an_east- bound passenger to Mandan Thurs- day where he looked over business affairs there. Mr. and Mrs. William Goetz of Hazen are guests for a few days at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Goetz and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Goetz. A conference was held in the Lutheran church Sunday. Quite a number of people were present. Mr. and Mrs. George Pitts and children motored to Stanton Satur- day where they were guests at the homes of their friends and rela- tives. The literary society of the Dodge Butte school No, 1 had an initiation party.on the freshmen Saturday night. Everybody reported quite a pleasant time. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Grossman and daughter Olga were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Ship- man. The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer, northeast of Dodge, died Wednesday. Arnold Kellar motored to Hebton Saturday where he looked over his business in that city. Rev. E. E. Matteson preached a splendid sermon in the Congrega- tional chureh Sunday. They plan on going to New York state and may decfde to locate there permanently. The K. P. lodge had a well at- tended meeting at their hall Wed- nesday night. Mrs. A. R. Robinson of Minneap- olis is spending some time visiting friends here. The Epworth League cabinet held a meeting at the Ballantine home Saturday when work for the new year was planned. Mrs. Selness made a trip to Bis- marck Saturday. Tom Mix, manager of the light plant, has been ill for several days.
