Archie Burkhart is working in the gravel pit on the Rosenbeck farm. Freddie Herdebu, Richard and Frances Rupp and Joe Poole, high school students of Bismarck, spent the week-end at home. The dance which was held in the town hall Saturday night was well attended. Music was furnished by a Bismarck orchestra. Thomas Pinks, painter and inter- ior decorator, of Bismarck, was here a few days ago painting the interior of the house recently purchased by Mrs, Baumgart. The carnival which was held at the schoolhouse Friday night was well attended and a nice sum was realized which will be used to pur- chase playground equipment for the school. Mr. and Mrs, Christ Hill and daughter Janet of Washburn visited at the Alvin Nordstrom home the fore part of the week. Mr. Hill is county auditor of McLean county. Clair and Merl Weise left late in the week for their former home at Elbowoods. They will also visit with their brother Frank at Garrison. The road east of town is being graveled at several places. Due to the heavy traffic during the time gravel was being hauled on this road, it needs fixing up. Leith By MRS. J. H. Davis farm south of Flasher, had his left hand caught in a corn shredder. It was completely severed at the wrist. He was rushed to Bis- marck where the forearm had to be amputated about one half the way to his elbow. Miss Jessie Morrison spent from Thursday until Sunday with her home folks. Miss lorrison is a nurse in the Bismarck hospital, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Dorward spent last week in Florida, They will re- turn home soon. Howard Christenson and Eugene Thornsen returned last “week from Canada. The snow scared them back to the states. Geo. Ferguson left Thursday for Chicago with six car loads of stock.
