The decision reverses that of the lower court. Decision Is Far Reaching The result of the decision, it is expected, will be to force counties to pay to political subdivisions thousands of ‘dollars in penalties and interest heretofore placed by: county treasurers in the county general fund. The system in effect in Towner county whereby the coun- ty kept all -penalties and interest on taxes said to be general throughout the state. The supreme court held, however, that the Rosedale school district cannot collect back penalties and interest ‘which are barred by the ordinary stathte of limitations. The liniitation statute, it was held, oper. ates against political subdivisions and corporations in the same man- ner that it operates against indi, viduals or private corporations, Students Entertained by Railroad Quartet The Great Northern Railway quartet, featured at the state corn) show, presented a program before’ students of the Roosevelt school and of the high school yesterday morn- ing. bepcda ed of several state depart- ments were guests at a program giv- en by the quartet in the offices of the motor vehicle department.
