‘PAGE TWO MARKETS GRAIN LIVESTOCK WHEAT MARKET - IS UNSETTLED Early Buyers Become Sellers on Bulge and Considerable Reaction Ensues Chicago, Nov. 5—(AP)—-Argentine reports of rust led to a quick steep Tise today in wheat prices here. The Chicago advance accompanied an upturn of two 3-8 to 3 1-2 cents in wheat values at Rosario, Argentina. Early buyers in Chicago, however, became progressive sellers on the bulge, and considerable reaction from top prices ensued. Wheat closed unsettled 1 3-8 to) 2 1-8 cents net higher; corn 1-2 @' 5-8 cent to 7-8 cent up, oats show. ing 1-8 to 1-4 cent gain and provi. sions varying from 20 cents decline By Associated Press Leased Wire Wheat — Der. 124 March May Corn-- Dec. March May Oats~- Dec. March May ye Dec. March May Lard— to a rise of seven to 10 cents. | An opening brisk advance in) wheat prices at Buenos Aires today tended to bear out reports of un- favorable crop conditions over parts of Argentina, especially talk of damage by rust in sections of the north. Bulls also took note of word that a heavy snowfall had occurred in the Canadian northwest, a cir-| cumstance likely to hinder the move- ment of new wheat there. Bi According to some authorities, iter all overnight offerings of Inited States winter wheat and of Canadian wheat to Liverpool were accepted. The upward revision of Australia’s production figures was ~‘ ascribed to confirmation of news “lay that further useful moisture had received in Australia where needed. WREAT PRICES HIGHER ON MILL CITY MARKET Minneapolis, Nov, 5.—(AP)—A ‘wild scramble of short covering on reports of rust in northern districts of the Argentine and frost in the Dec south sent prices soaring today. An oversold technical condition ap-| peared on the rise with heavy stop Joss buying on the way up. Rise here was 2 1-2 @ 2 3.4 cents, but the volume was not large. «Oats advanced 5-8 cent and fell back part way. December rye jumped 1 7-8 cents and held 1 1-2! cents advance. December barley gained one cent. December flaxseed bulged 3 1.4 cents and held‘a three- cent gain. Cash wheat offerings were moder-} ate and demand was better than usu- al on Saturday. The better class of spring wheat sold well at firm dif- ferences, wtih occasional sales one cent higher. Winter wheat was seatce and demand was quiet to fair. Durum was firm to strong in spite of larger offerings of milling quality. Corn was firm to stronger for mixed. Oats were steady for good quaaity oferings, quiet and draggy for light-| weights. Rye was quiet and draggy. Barley was steady ata 68 @ 74 cents. Flaxseed was firm to stronger for choice, with offerings light. ‘STOCK PRICES PERM AT CLOSE Investment Railroad Shares! Present indications are for fairly large output during the fall and winter months. At the moment, however, receivers do not report much of an increase in the size of the lots from individual factories. Shipment~ from most factories are about the same from week to week, with an occasional increase of one to two tubs, Purchases, meanwhile, are con- fined to bare necessities, and this has resulted in a slight accumula-! tion, es] jally of fancy butter on practi lly all markets. eS a oe |, Grain Review > Minneapolis, Nov, 5.—(?)—(U.
