Located at South Thirteenth street Apply at Gussner’s Statement to Public Since I was a candidate, together with four other’ doctors, for the position of County Physician: of Bur- leigh County (salary $83.33 per month) at the last meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, I wish to make the following statement to the public: Had I known that a political fight for control of the Board of County Commissioners, or that an early skirmish of the coming city election were to enter into the matter I should’ never have made an application for the position. I was given to understand that the . position would not be considered as a purely political appointment, but would be given to some doctor who _ had an inclination to take care of the stig people. The only promise I made to anyone was that if appointed I would give the same care and attention to the poor peo- ple that any rich man could get by paying the largest | medical fee. vox y ? It has come to my attention, however, that. the., statement was made that Dr. MacLachlan was . not eligible for the position for the reason that “He was not a doctor, but was only an eye doctor.” To clear up this erroneous impression, I wish to state that I hold a degree in medicine from Harvard University, ~ also a degree from the National University of Mexico, post-graduate certificates from Heidelberg, Germany, and Vienna, Austria; certificates to practice in the states of Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Dakota, California and all Old Mexico, Spain and Japan; in ac- tive practice of general and special medicine for twen- ty-five years. At the present time I confine my prac- tice to internal diseases and to diseases of the eye, ear, r nose and throat and the fitting of glasses. r. T. M. MacLachlan: Room 6 Lucas Block.
