McGray yesterday afternoon. A very inter- esting and appropriate Hallowe'en program.was given. Mrs. Schoelkopf, the leader, read a paper on, “The Origin of Hallowe'en. The following musical numbers were | given. Vocal solos—“Will o’ the Wisp,” Spross and “Candle Lightin’ Time”’—Taylor, by M. Graham. Piano solos “The Wate! "s Song,” Grieg, and “The Ghost’—Rockwell, by Miss Hoffman. Vocal Solos— “Jack O’Lantern — Gaynor an “Jack O'Lanter”—Del Riego, by Mrs. Targart. Piano Duet “The Witches Dnace”, McDowell, by Mrs. Rose and Mrs. Hughes. After the program the hostess an- no.eced that the guests were to search for ‘the —refreshments. The - seventeen ladies then knocked at each! door in the house ‘but at each one a wierd voice replied, “Not here.” They were finally admitted to a cozy room on the third floor where Hal- lowe’en_ dainties rewarded their ef- forts. GIVE HALLOWE'EN SOCIAL A unique Hallowe'en social will be given, by the Epworth Lezgue of the; Methodist Episcopal evening of October 31, in the church parlors.. The committee in charge asks everyone to come but warns,them to beware of the goblins. ANNOUNCEMENTS 'WHCEIVED Announcements have been received adm the city of the marriage of Miss _ Mabel Rammel of Oshkosh, Wis., to Henry Rupsdorf, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Rupsdorf of Bismarck. It is expected that the young people will make their home in ‘Bismarck. MISS FITZGERALD HONORED A number of young lady friends of Miss Gertrude Fitzgerald gathered ‘at her home last evening and surprised! her. Miss Fitzgerald is leaving for Garrison soon.
