He is op- posed to swindling the farmers or deceiving the laboring men. This is a time for conservation and constructive leg- islation, and not the tinte to be worshipping socialist idols. Too many men are aping Townley with no more desire to serve the public any more than he. This is the time for them to come out in the open and stand up and fight. In eliminating Townleyism we should look before we leap, and not build up a worse cabal. It is not safe to elect men who even flirted with socialism. McCutcheon does not need a job, but if sent to Con- gress, would be free to work for those things that every . man knows to be true and right, but from which most politicians shrink from taking a stand upon. The Nonpartisan League will have no members in the next Congress, but should they have one or two they will be so far in the minority, that no consideration will be given any attempt they might make for a ance for their“district. Your vote will be thrown away by voting League for Congress. : McCutcheon favors a Federal appropriation of $5,000,- 000 for the relief of drought stricken farmers to be used for seed, feed or labor to plant their crops. No league member can get this. He favors the extension of the Federal Farm Loan Bank and the establishment of a Rural Credit Farm Bank, so that our farmers may secure as cheap money as any other person. This a Nonpartisan Leaguer could not secure. McCutcheon is absolutely opposed to irresponsible rad- icalism of all sorts and colors, no matter by whom es- poused or expounded. sm Those who flirt with socialis today may become full fledged exponents tomorrow. McCutcheon is absolutely opposed to using the farm- ers tax money, now in the Bank of North Dakota, to gam- ble in any highly competitive state enterprises. Com- mon sense will teach everybody that politicians cannot run such affairs as cheap as the farmers themselves, with proper state assistance along lines advocated for many years by McCutcheon. McCutcheon favors a National Soldiers bonus, so that the boys who sacrificed their time and their fortunes may have some substantial remuneration. Likewise he favors Federal tance in immigration problems. It should be plain to every voter that if our farmers are to reccive any relief from the Federal Government they must elect a Congressman of the majority party, and no matter how sincere any ‘leaguer may be he can secure no relief in a Congress in which he is in the mi- nority and has no voice. The north half of the Thirc has never had a representative in Congress and by ail that is fair, is entitled to the aomination. McCutcheon invites the support of all right thinking men, with cour- age of their convictions and assures them that this is to be a FIGHT and not a TEA PARTY. * Published by the friends of E. B.
