,g'hh railway station located on M. &. I railway just on the ary line of Itasca and Koochi- counties was fincorporated @ 'vflkxe in’ 1906 and can now boast ofiover 100 population, according to the last census. It was named after E. L. Orth, who lives at Brainerd and was train dis- pwl:cher for the M & 1. railway [pany. 'lrylng and general farming will be this community’s future princi- pal business, although at the present time it boasts of being located with- in"the Island Lake district which is considered a real, fishérmahn’s para- dise. This attractive lake is but two miles from the village of Orth. There is a good. general store, backsmith shop, restaurant ‘and other business enterprises in this vi- lage. The country around Orth is being settled rapidly by progressive farmers who are fast carving their homes out of what a few short years ago was nothing more nor less than a wil ness. Within the past year more than 25 families have settled in this lo- cality, which speaks well for the sqil and farming prospects of the Orth district.
