Several weeks ago the John Wanamaker stores of New York and Philadelphia started a drive against high prices by offering 20 per cent reduction, in an effort to reduce high costs. Gill Bros. intends to assist this downward trend. It has been the established policy of Gill Bros. to always sell dependable merchandise at reasonable prices. During the period of the war, we con- ducted our business on a closer margin than} at any other time during the preceding seventeen years. Our business has steadily grown in a substantial, sound way. We are opposed to “bargain sales,” ‘“time limit sales,” etc.; and in making this offer of 20 per cent reduction we wish our patrons to understand that it is no bargain sale in any sense of the word. It is our regular high grade stock offered at 20 per cent reduction. We are doing this because we believe that if leading merchants throughout the nation do the same thing, started by the Wanamaker stores, that manufacturers, woolen merchants, mills and labor will be willing to assist, which will result in truer, sounder and better national life.
