Six pounds of corn was necessary to produce a pound of pork, so the 170 pounds of alfalfa produced 16 2-3 pounds of pork. Esti- mating that during the season an acre of alfalfa.will yield 20,000 pounds of green hay, this, if cut and fed green with corn, would make 2,000 pounds of pork.
