John Goodman and family returned the first of the week from a tour of the west and a trip to the San Fran- cisco exposition. H. A meeting of the Betch-U-Wana club was held Thursday evening and plans were made for a hunting trip to Moval Lake Saturday morning in honor of Harry Wolf of St. Paul, who is visiting Howard Palmer. About nine of the club members ex- pect to make the trip. The first meeting of the senior class of the Bemidji high school was held yesterday afternoon and Delbert Woods was elected president. The only other officer elected was Leroy Matson, sergeant-at-arms. PAROLES GRANTED TWENTY-ONE BOYS St. Paul, Minn., Dec. 17.—Christ- mas paroles were granted yesterday by the state board of control at a meeting held at the Red Wing train- ing school. A number of girls will also be released from the girls’ train- ing school at Sauk Rapids. In addition to the paroles, it is al- ways customary to allow those boys and girls whose record are exception- ally good to visit their homes during the Christmas period. They are released on their honor and generally return at the expira- tion of the time. BIDS FOR WO0OD.
